Supply Chain Analyst

£28,000 to £35,000 plus benefits

A successful, established global manufacturing business based in Birmingham is currently looking to recruit a Supply Chain Analyst.

If you’re thinking, well that’s great, where do I apply, then you’re probably not going to be right for this one.  However, if you’re thinking, how successful, what is the turnover, what is the profit, what do they make, how do they make it, where are their other sites, how many suppliers do they have, what are the current lead times on their top 50 component parts, or any other combination of the plethora of questions that would help you to better understand if this organisation, and role, are right for you then, chances are you could be exactly what they need, after all, an inquisitive mindset and ability to identify specific, relevant information are great assets for any analyst!

In this role you will be responsible for digging into large data sets pulled from multiple sources to make sense of the numbers and present findings in the form of easy to understand management information, all relating to supply chain, logistics and customs activities and operations.  Your analysis will play a vital role in helping to identify opportunities for improvement, areas of risk and examples of success.  You will be working closely with key members of the supply chain and project teams to help drive all manner of supply chain-related improvement projects across the UK and Europe.  You will lead the creation of processes and methods to gather key data, working closely with the IT department to implement effective, efficient systems that make reporting a doddle.

To be successful in this role it is expected that you will be able to demonstrate the majority of the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in an analytical role, ideally one that has focused on supply chain, procurement, logistics, inventory, demand planning etc
  • Experienced in data mining, analysis and reporting
  • Familiarity with supply chain processes such as demand, inventory and logistics planning
  • Advanced level knowledge of MS Excel and the ability to create complex formulas to manipulate large data sets
  • Previous experience of working with ERP systems
  • High attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the business
  • Strong motivator, self-starter with an enthusiastic approach

In return you will receive:

  • Base salary of circa £28,000 to £35,000 depending on experience
  • Contributory pension
  • 25 days holiday
  • Flexible working – 2 days per week from home (currently working full time from home due to Covid)
