Most of us will cringe when we hear those 5 words, after all all they ever want to do is come in and find out what’s wrong with what we’re doing right, just to make our lives that little bit harder?  Well no actually, not if they’re doing their job right, in fact the good ones can actually help your business to be more efficient, profitable and, importantly, operating on the right side of lawful (I should know as I’ve been one in a previous life!).  If you fancy helping road haulage businesses get better at what they do, are happy travelling and staying away regularly and are based in the North East/Scotland then this job should be right up your street.

What’s on offer?

  • Base salary of up to £42,000
  • Fully expensed car

What will you be doing?

You’ll be responsible for proactively managing relationships with circa 20 road haulage businesses in the North East and Scotland, undertaking audits to identify opportunities for improvement, both operationally and commercially, and providing advice, support and guidance where required.  You’ll build outstanding relationships with these businesses, essentially establishing yourself as an extension of their operation and helping them to improve and maintain standards.  You’ll be expected to deliver training to these businesses as and when required, particularly around the roll out of any new processes or policies.

What do you need to bring to the party?

To be successful in this role it’s expected that you’ll be able to demonstrate the majority of the following skills and experience:

  • Strong knowledge of UK road haulage operations and legislation – would really suit someone who has worked as a Transport or Commercial Fleet Manager
  • Any previous experience working in an auditing/continuous improvement role would be highly advantageous but isn’t essential
  • A diplomatic approach to problem solving and improvement
  • Natural relationship builder
  • Detail focused
  • Willing and able to travel long distances on a regular basis each week, including stay over’s where required
  • Full UK driving license
