What will you be doing?
As a Programme Buyer, you’ll be working as part of a new function to develop low volume, high value products. You’ll work with the procurement team (who’ll take care of the actual buying part) and the Design and Engineering teams (who ultimately you’ll need to hold to account) for all projects/programmes that you manage, ensuring everything is kept on track from a procurement perspective to support the various programmes the business is running. You’ll need to have project experience from a commercial environment, ideally as a project engineer or with an engineering background.
The lead times for manufacture are long (18 months or more) but deadlines need to be met so you’ll need to have experience of implementing gateways to ensure projects run to plan.

You’ll be joining a high value, low volume manufacturing business that supplies all over the world. They have both established and new talent in their team and are looking to develop and evolve a previously under-utilised procurement function, which existed purely to drive out cost, to one that embraces new ideas, new processes and delivers a best in class value adding service (as well as making the savings!).
