What’s on offer?
What will you be doing?
Leading a team of 15, you’ll be responsible for leading the procurement activity for a multi-million £ spend across a range of UK & European suppliers, covering component parts (circa 3k parts per unit), fabrications and complex sub-assemblies. This is a start up programme for this particular business, and as such you’ll have a mix of established suppliers, with T&Cs and SLAs already in place, a number where this is still to be finalised and a number that still require sourcing and onboarding. The business is aiming to have 60% of it’s supplier based here in the UK in due course so there will be a requirement to re-source a number of suppliers in the future. You and your team will be responsible for the procurement of both direct and indirect goods and services, working to develop strategic supplier relationships whilst working within a governance framework and delivering the most favourable commercial agreements possible. You’ll need to embed a culture of compliance, ensuring systems are updated and kept accurate. This is an organisation where you will be required to work both strategically and in a hands on manner in a start-up environment with an ever evolving landscape, therefore you have to be adaptable and comfortable working, and dealing, with change. As far as your team is concerned, you’ll provide the leadership, motivation, coaching and development they need to progress both their capabilities and career prospects.
Who will you be doing it for?
You’ll be joining an established engineering & production business that produce innovative, high value, low volume products that make a huge difference to the lives of people all around the world, some who are suffering in the hardest of times. They will give you the autonomy to do things your way and the support to ensure you make a real impact.
What do you need to bring to the party?
To be successful in this role it is expected that you’ll be able to demonstrate the majority (after all no-one’s perfect!) of the following skills and experience:
